Siem Reap day #1!

Wat Bo. Beautiful construction under the magnificent Cambodian sky. No tourist, 2 blocks from my guest house. Oldest temple in town. Every morning while evrey single tourist is off to Angkor Wat with their digital cameras, I get to enjoy sitting by myself in front of Buddha whose face is structured with solid Khmer cheeks and jaws.

Next to the Wat is monk school. The best education in the country is available for free of charge. For 6 years they can study Philosophy, History, Science, Literature, English, French, Sanscrit, etc. What puts off many is the strict diciprine. Shaved head, early rise, no computer or motorbike, no girlfriend, no food in the afternoons. For the good education would you do it?

There is several schools in the central Siem Reap area. I even find Kindergarden right in the tourist district.

My heart rush towards the 'school project', the first and formost reason I came here for. So I call and network and find people in town that would connect me to those schools in need. These contacts I gain here are heavily owed to the kindness of organization 'Cambodia School Project'() I would like to thank and mention Mr. Garms and Mr. Ou, for leading me here.
