Khmer/American music project!

I have met Les the day before and told about the Khmer children playing at the temple, finding that he (he was staying at the same guest house. more on him on next posting) also play music I have invited him over to this morning's performance.

Once Khmer children become comfortable with us foreigners (Patrick also came to see) Les takes out his beautiful acoustic guitar, figures out their melody and plays along. Beautiful confidence.

so I join in with my harmonica. the whole thing starts sounding like a traditional Khmer music meets Blues Rock. What's the chance that I bring the harmonica of the right key out of all 10 harmonicas I have in New York? Khmer traditional music was A pentatonic and E blues. hooray!

We play together for a couple of songs, some fast beat, some heavy and slow. Les shows his shining Dean guitar (made in Korea. all the good guitars are from Asia) to one of the children.

Our band. In music there is no border or language barrier.
