khmer music project

On my way back from morning meditation in Wat Bo, I hear some traditional music from somewhere in the temple. Following the sound I run into a group of young students playing for the monks. With a help of a monk's translation I ask to meet again next morning.
In this picture above, deep in left corner you see Sadio, a string instrument with some kind of half open nut at the top of the neck to resonate/mute the sound. You pluck two strings with finger.

Veritcal string instrument named Trou-sao has three strings and snake skin. And you play with a bow, sounds pretty much like a violin.

Gou, a drum, which is very similar to an African djimbee, also has snake skin.

What looks like a flute here is called Karoi, and actually sounds like an Irish bugpipe. not sure what it's made out of.

Isn't she beautiful? She's playing Japai, a big wooden string instrument with fretted neck and three strings, produces a bass sound that aren't like any bass instrument I know.
